Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is long lasting, typically lasting 3-7 years before a ‘touch-up’ is needed. That’s not to say that SMP will fade away completely, because it doesn’t.
Using high quality carbon based pigment ink, ensures long lasting results designed to age well, only losing definition and naturally softening over time.
Prolonged sun and UV exposure is the biggest contributor to faster SMP fading. Ensuring proper self-care by living a healthy lifestyle, regularly moisturizing your scalp and using a mineral based sun block will help keep your SMP looking bold and well defined longer. -

SMP sessions are typically spread out 2 weeks apart, so you'll essentially transition from one healing phase to the next. Typically, full healing takes around 4 weeks after your last session. During this period, the pigments settle into their true color, and your scalp fully recovers. After this, there's no need for special scalp care, but it's important to shield your scalp from sunlight and wear sunblock SPF during extending sun exposure to prevent pigment fading due to sun exposure.

Scalp micropigmentation, or SMP, is a procedure that involves injecting tiny dots of pigment into the scalp skin using a specialized machine with a fine needle. These dots are strategically placed to conceal specific hair or scalp issues. The process typically requires multiple sessions, typically 3, but possibly more depending on individual skin retention.
Here's a simplified breakdown of the SMP treatment process with Pigment2scalp Micropigmentation:
1. Consultation: Start by scheduling a consultation with Pigment2scalp. We will assess your scalp, explain the expected results, discuss the treatment schedule, and provide post-treatment care instructions. While you can decide on the hairline shape, the artist will select the pigment color.
2. 1st Micropigmentation Session: The first session is crucial in achieving the desired look. It begins with outlining your future hairline. Then the needling process begins. The artist uses the tattoo machine to apply tiny pigment dots to the scalp, creating the illusion of hair follicles. This session typically lasts 2 to 4 hours.
3. 2nd Session: The second session is usually scheduled 10-14 days after the first one. During this time, the initial results may appear dark and then gradually lighten as some pigment is naturally removed from the skin. A single session can't achieve proper pigment saturation. In the second session, the artist replenishes the dots with pigment and can make adjustments to the hairline shape if needed. This session is shorter than the first one.
4. 3rd Session: Another 10-14 days later, at this stage, a substantial amount of pigment should be retained, giving a glimpse of the final result. The third session serves to further enhance the pigment and refine the overall look.
In summary, scalp micropigmentation is a procedure where pigment is strategically injected into the scalp to create the appearance of hair follicles. It typically involves multiple sessions to achieve the desired effect, with the first session setting the foundation for the subsequent ones.
